Glattalp Karst Craters Covered by Hoar Frost (Photo Album: Glattalp) | ![]() |
![]() Glattalp Karst Craters Covered by Hoar Frost Glattalp is more a trough than an elevated plain, so it can get quite cold there with hoar frost in the morning. Karst topography is a type of landscape shaped by the dissolution of a soluble layer rock washed out over thousands of years, leaving caves underground and craters on the surface. Glattalp and neighbouring Charretalp are among a few examples of karst landscapes in Switzerland. |
