Näfelser Fahrt: Prayer Stop

While taking part in the event is an opportunity for the marching bands to show their musical talents and a few hundred spectators were marching along from Glarus to Näfels evidently primarily for social and folkloristic reasons, only some three dozen people (half clergy, half laypersons) were actively engaging in the religious aspects, namely reciting the rosary and praying at some stops along the route marked by stones. (Total population of the valley: 38,000).
